Top Chef: Sweet (and Savory) Sixteen
Welcome to the 1st Annual Top Chef Madness tournament! Inspired by the NCAA Tourney, we've picked 16 of our favorite cheftestants across all six seasons of Top Chef, and seeded them as we saw fit.
We're sure many of you will have something to say about our choices and our rankings (just because someone won their season doesn't mean, in our view, that he or she deserves a No. 1 seed). If you're a die-hard Carla Hall-fan, take it out on us in the comments.
There are four regions: Toyota Venza, Alexia Waffle Fries, Glad Family of Products, and Kenmore Appliances. This week, we'll hold two match-ups a day until we're down to the Elite Eight. If you're into office pools (and want proof that you knew Richard Blais was going to win it all), click the above bracket, print it and fill it out. Then, vote early and often for your picks.
TODAY'S MATCH-UPS (TOYOTA VENZA REGION):
Hung Huynh (Season 3) v. Antonia Lofaso (Season 2): Hung may be the most technically-skilled contestant TC has ever seen, but he's also besties with Marcel. Antonia made real-person food, which we think is pretty cool—for all those times when you just don't have liquid nitrogen laying around in your kitchen.
Bryan Voltaggio (Season 6) v. Tiffani Faison (Season 1): Bryan is the only Voltaggio son not to win Top Chef, so ... he's got that going for him, which is nice. Tiffani inspired the best catchphrase in TC history: I'm not your bitch, bitch.
